   अब जबकि ओबामा कि लोकप्रियता ‌‌‌‌-4.4 प्रतिशत तक गिर गयी है और चुनावों में एक वर्ष से भी कम समय बचा है तो ईरान पर बम गिराने के उनके उपाय की महत्ता अधिक बढ गयी है और यह ऐसा बिंदु है जिसकी चर्चा सार्वजनिक रूप से अमेरिका के अनेक वर्ग के लोगों ने की है ( सराह पालिन, पैट बुचानन, डिक चेनी, रोन पाल, इलिओट अब्राम्स, जार्ज फ्रीडमैन, डेविड ब्रोडर, डोनाल्ड ट्र्म्प)। स्वास्थ्य कल्याण, रोजगार और ऋण का प्रस्ताव राष्ट्रपति के लिये अधिक सम्भावना लेकर नहीं आते , वामपंथ पूरी तरह निराश है और स्वतन्त्र मतों को अपनी ओर किया जा सकता है। वर्तमान स्थिति में प्रतिबंध और ड्रोन को लेकर चल रही मुठभेड केवल ध्यान बँटाने का कार्य है ईरान के परमाणु प्रतिष्ठानों पर 2012 के प्रथम चरण में आक्रमण की सम्भावना दिखती है और यह समय अमेरिका में चुनावों के निकट है यह तो स्वतः स्पष्ट है।
